Baptist Housing's History of Serving Seniors in British Columbia | Baptist Housing

Baptist Housing has a rich history of serving seniors in British Columbia.

Our first senior living community was built in the Killarney area of Vancouver in 1964, when people from the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches saw a growing need to provide affordable housing for seniors and families. Federal and provincial funding opportunities allowed them to embark on the journey of founding a non-profit organization to compassionately meet these needs. In 1964, we had 64 room and board units and 102 apartments serving 172 Residents with 8 Team Members.

We have 17 senior living communities throughout British Columbia. With hundreds of suites ranging over three levels of care, we serve over 2100 Residents with 1100 Team Members.

While housing needs have certainly changed in the last 50 years, our commitment to caring for the physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of our Residents remains unchanged.
