Moreover, you have a keen eye for detail and a compassionate nature, enabling you to observe and recognize changes in residents' overall well-being, whether physical, emotional, or psychological. You are proactive in attending recommended relevant conferences, workshops, and events, ensuring you stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in senior care.
Must Haves

A minimum Grade 12 education and completion of recognized recreational courses for seniors

Certificates in CPR and First Aid

Experience working with seniors and organizing senior group activities, or related combinations of equivalent education, training, and experience.

Valid Class 4 unrestricted driver designation.
About The Role
*This is a permanent part-time position of 22.50 hours per week

Assists in planning and organizing events and programs to enhance wellness and foster relationships among residents and between residents and team members.

Creates and posts activity calendars, notices, and schedules promptly, including sign-up sheets and payment details.

Assists in arranging the setup and takedown of furnishings related to activities and events.

Drives the Baptist Housing bus for independent living and assisted living residents.

Plans and organizes various bus trips, such as mall visits, scenic drives, and day outings.

Collaborates with the activity coordinator and welcomes input from team members and residents for trip planning.

Manages logistical aspects, including financial considerations.

Maintains records and documentation, including attendance and involvement statistics, progress reports, and activity plans, as requested by the Activity Supervisor.

Ensures the bus's regular maintenance, upkeep, and cleanliness, along with maintaining all necessary records, log sheets, and reports.

Contributes to maintaining and expanding a resource list of individuals, volunteers, and organizations for referral purposes.

Demonstrates and encourages safe working practices and ensures team members follow these practices.

Identifies and addresses unsafe work practices.

Promotes and supports a culture of health and safety within the community.

Your Work Location
Our Marrion Village community enjoys a prime location in Victoria, right in the heart of picturesque Oak Bay, with the added convenience of the Oak Bay Recreation Centre just steps away.
What You Receive
An hourly wage starting at $26.27/hr. along with extended health and dental coverage, paid vacation, and support for professional development.
