Must Haves

  • Recognized degree or diploma in recreation therapy

  • Current certification in occupational first aid level 1

  • Completed Class 4 Drivers training

  • Valid Class 4 (unrestricted) driver's license with clear driver abstract

  • Two years of recent related experience coordinating activity programs for seniors

  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

About the Role

  • Develop, implement, and assess therapeutic wellness programs for independent and assisted living residents

  • Collaborate with assisted living manager, chaplains, and activity assistants to create customized activities

  • Tailor programs to meet unique resident needs, foster community, and enhance holistic wellness

  • Coordinate and schedule internal programs and external outings

  • Prepare activity calendar considering activation, life skills, recreation, and social needs

  • Cultivate strong relationships with residents and fellow team members, including chaplain

  • Uphold Baptist Housing values as an ambassador for the organization

  • Full-time position with flexible schedule including weekends and evenings

  • Report directly to the administrator

Your Work Location

Victoria ranks in the top twenty world cities for quality of life. Your work location is at our independent living facility at Shannon Oaks , which is perfectly situated in the desirable neighbourhood of Oak Bay.
