Baptist Housing is looking for a full-time System Administrator to join our team in Delta.

The System Administrator supports the provision of information technology services to Kelowna, Lower Mainland and Victoria regions within Baptist Housing’s portfolio of seniors housing and care services.  The Team Member will be based at Delta Head Office and provide support remotely to Victoria and Kelowna and as needed may provide onsite support within the Lower Mainland Region. The System Administrator will ensure that IT services are provided to our Team Members to accomplish our mission.  Our Team will feel well served and well supported in every interaction relating to IT service delivery.  The position reports to the Director of Information Technology.

The mandate of the System Administrator is to provide services including but not limited to: in-person/telephone support, maintenance of software/hardware systems (eg security cameras, nurse call and key scan systems, time clocks etc) troubleshooting as required and provide project support in a way which leverages the use and application of technology in serving seniors.  Supports and help develop strategies to build capacity and expertise in the use of systems and technology (including but not limited to infrastructure, data security, voice and data networks, nurse call systems, hardware and software, disaster recovery) to meet the organization’s present and future needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with PC and printer configuration and maintenance in a Windows environment.
  • Diploma or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or currently work towards one of these degrees.  Other certifications such as A+, Network +, MCSA or MCSE is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10/8 and Windows 2012 / 2016 Server, including active directory and group policy.
  • Working Knowledge of networking devices such as Fortinet, Meru, Aerohive, Open Mesh, Ubiquity.
  • Knowledge of Exchange 2013, VMWare, Veeam, Symantec antivirus server, team viewer, Malwarebytes, backup exec.
  • Enterprise IT infrastructure experience is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office products.
  • Working knowledge of Connexall nurse call, Panasonic phone system, Mitel phone system
  • Must be flexible, open-minded and able to prioritize effectively
  • Must possess good problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding service level expectations.
  • Demonstrated execution mind set in fast paced, dynamic environments.
  • A collaborative style that is innovative, energetic, honest, participatory, empowering and enabling as well as a talent for team building.
  • Willing to participate in providing on call support 24/7 or as required.
  • A valid driver's license and own transportation
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills in English
  • *Consent for a Criminal Record Check (CRC) for working with Vulnerable Adults

This is a permanent full-time position 37.50 hours / week. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefit package.
