Must Haves

Resident Care Aid Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution

Current registration in good standing with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry

Current Food Safe Certificate

A valid First Aid Certificate

A minimum of one year of experience providing care in a residential care environment is preferred.
About The Role

Foster positive relationships with residents, team members, families, and partners.

Implement the Wellness Model of Care.

Promote active living, continuity of care, and normalization for residents.

Assist with daily living activities, mealtimes, laundry, and transportation.

Respect residents' living spaces.

Contribute to resident care plans and follow care plans.

Attend meetings and stay informed about changes.

Maintain confidentiality and show respect for residents' dignity and individuality.

Welcome new residents and participate in educational sessions.

Maintain resident charting and complete incident reports.

Enter resident information into InteRAI-MDS documents.

Report relevant resident information to nurses promptly.

Take responsibility for personal and professional development.

Promote a culture of health and safety.

Demonstrate safe working practices and encourage team members to do the same.

Identify and address hazards, make safety suggestions, and follow infection control policies rigorously, including regular hand washing.
