You have a Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree in Social Work and are registered and in good standing with BCCSW.

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, eligible for BC registration 

  • MSW preferred

  • Experience in a long term care environment

  • Experience in gerontology within a health care environment is preferred

About The Role

You’ll be a key leader in our community, responsible for both team and program leadership.  As a strong advocate for the Wellness Model of Care, you’ll facilitate resident care conferences and offer crisis intervention and debriefing to residents, team members, and significant others when needed. Additionally, you will provide adjustment counselling and determine eligibility for financial or material assistance for residents and their families. You’ll collaborate with healthcare professionals in care planning and stay updated on legislative programs and advancements in complex care. You'll also collaborate with the full-time social worker to coordinate admissions, transfers, and dischargesYour dedication to continuous improvement is evident as you’ll review and revise policies, collect statistical data, and integrate evidence-based research. You’ll also foster professional relationships and communication within the community, promoting a culture of health and safety. This is a part-time temporary position of approximately 25 hours per week that reports to the administrator.

Your Work Location

Victoria ranks among the top twenty world cities for quality of life. While you serve all six of our Victoria seniors’ communities, your work location will be The Heights at Mount View, a seven-story, 260-suite long-term care community in Saanich.  

What You Receive

A competitive salary with vacation entitlement set at 4 weeks, prorated by the FTE. You'll also benefit from employer-paid benefits and a 7% RRSP matching plan after three months of employment. Compensation is based on the HSP master collective agreement. 

Bachelors: $35.52 - $48.88

Masters: $41.04 - $51.27
