Activities Coordinator - (Temporary) - Victoria
Baptist Housing is recruiting a full-time Activities Coordinator who is excited to join our team in Victoria at Marrion Village. This is a temporary position (approximately 1 year), covering for an incumbent who is on leave.
The Activities Coordinator plans, implements, and evaluates recreational therapeutic wellness programs for the Independent and Assisted Living Residents on the Oak Bay Campus. The Activities Coordinator coordinates the wellness activities for each group of residents in a collaborative process with the Assisted Living Manager, Chaplains, and Activity Assistants to ensure activities are developed to meet individual needs, promote community and optimize the holistic wellness of all Residents.
Responsibilities include developing activity programs which address the differing needs of Assisted Living and Independent Living Residents and support the Baptist Housing Model of Wellness; driving the Baptist Housing bus transporting Residents to external activities; provide leadership, mentoring and support to Team Members in the Activity Department; participates in on-call coverage for after-hours emergencies as a member of the campus management team; liaise with external agencies, such as volunteer agencies, health organizations, local schools, community and church groups, and recruits resources for programs and events; tracking and reporting expenditures.

The successful candidate must hold a recognized degree or diploma program in Recreational Therapy, have a valid Class 4 (unrestricted) license and a clear driver abstract and current certification in Emergency First Aid or equivalent.
This is a temporary full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package.
