Long Term Care Coordinator - Victoria
Baptist Housing is recruiting a casual Long Term Care Coordinator (Nurses Bargaining Association Collective Agreement, Level 4 RN) who is excited to join our team in Victoria at The Heights at Mount View.
The Long Term Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and participating in the provision of person-centered care in assigned Communities. As a member of a multidisciplinary care team, the Coordinator participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating Resident care programs.
Nursing duties include complex assessments such as RAI-MDS, medication administration and review, wound and skin care and other interventions, and leading the development of Care Plans, ensuring an interdisciplinary approach that includes Residents and their family. As a Nurse leader, the Coordinator exemplifies, and works collaboratively with the team to implement, a person-centered Wellness Model of Care. The Coordinator is a role model for the team in the effort to normalize and enhance the lives of Residents, while involving them in their care and preserving their independence to the greatest possible extent.
Team leadership and supervisory duties include participating in the hiring process; providing leadership, supervising and supporting assigned Team Members; supporting Team Member performance, including developing performance appraisals and providing coaching and mentoring to Team Members.

The successful candidate must hold a recognized Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree or equivalent and be a member in good standing of BCCNP. A Canadian Nurses Association Gerontology Certificate is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience required in nursing, leadership, and supervising the performance of teams in a Long Term Care environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
This is a casual position providing vacation and other leave coverage during the day Monday - Friday . RNs are union positions and compensation and benefits are outlined by the Provincial BC Nurses Collective Agreement.
