Baptist Housing CEO Awarded Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal

Howard Johnson, President and CEO of Baptist Housing, was honoured to be one of approximately twenty five recipients of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal at the Annual Canadian Association on Gerontology Conference in Vancouver.

The medal serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians for dedication to improving the lives of older adults in Canada.

Of the recognition Mr. Johnson says, "It is with extreme gratitude that I have been privileged to serve Seniors alongside tremendous Team Members, Partners, Fellow Colleagues and Friends these 40 years in the capacity of colleague and volunteer.

The past 24 years with Baptist Housing alone have allowed me to greet hundreds of people visiting Canada who have come to learn from the innovative ways Baptist Housing is serving Seniors.

I believe that I would not have received this honour without everyone's participation and association with me and Baptist Housing.

My inspiration to serve Seniors has been my grandmother who always had an encouraging word for me and would always say 'isn't that a corker' when she would lose at a game of Sorry."
