Scholarship Application

We are pleased to provide you the opportunity to apply for a scholarship.

If your parent was or currently is an employee of Baptist Housing Ministries (BHM), please select either BHM Undergraduate Studies First Time Applicant or BHM Undergraduate Studies Re-Applicant. If your parent was or currently is a staff member of Fellowship Pacific Church Ministry/Camp or Missionary (FFBM) please choose from the Foundation for Fellowship Baptist Ministries (FFBM) application selection.

The Baptist Housing Ministries scholarship program will be phased out March 31, 2025. All eligible applicants will be able to apply up to and including August, 2024 or until the maximum allowable scholarship of $6400 is granted (whichever comes first).  Please click the relevant application to view details related to eligibility.

Scholarship Awards

  • Scholarships are available in the amount of $250 to $800 per academic term.
  • The maximum scholarship in a single academic year is $2400 (3 consecutive terms of study – usually fall, winter and summer).
  • Work terms or similar co-op modules qualify for scholarship funding.
  • The maximum lifetime scholarship per applicant is $6400.  

Eligibility

Scholarships are available for application to:

  • Children of current full-time/regular part-time Team Members of The Baptist Housing Ministries Society as of August 20, 2020. 

Applicants must be 25 years of age or younger at the time of initial application, and must be enrolled or approved for enrollment in a full course load in the year of application.  The program of study must be a recognized full-time undergraduate degree program at a university, theological college or a recognized full-time program at an institution or an accredited vocational college.

Criteria

The awarding of a scholarship is based on the written acceptance into an approved school.  The recipient is to be enrolled in a full course load.  The awarding of a scholarship may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient re-applies with a full course load and a minimum passing grade in the previous year of study.    

Scholarship awards and any exceptions to limits, criteria, or durations are at the discretion of the Trustees of the Scholarship Fund.  The Trustees’ decisions regarding the application and approval process are final.

The Awards Officer will respond to scholarship applications within 4 – 6 weeks of the August 15th deadline with an acceptance letter and scholarship cheque, or a letter of acknowledgement. An email will be sent confirming receipt of the application; however, it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure we have received the completed application and supporting official documents by the August 15th deadline. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be processed.

Note: Changes may occur to the scholarship policy in the future at the discretion of the Board and may occur without notification.

  • The maximum lifetime scholarship per applicant is $4000.  

Eligibility

Scholarships are available for application to:

  • Individuals who are employed in a full-time/regular part-time role as Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in British Columbia and Yukon (operating as Fellowship Pacific) pastors and their spouses or missionaries as well as Fellow Pacific Agencies and Camp Leaders and are undertaking church ministry related graduate studies. A pastoral role title is defined as pastor, associate pastor, director, administrator, ministry leader, co-ordinator, and other such titles that indicate a church ministry leadership position. An employed position is a paid position; at this time volunteer positions are ineligible. A Fellowship Pacific missionary is one classified as a missionary by Fellowship Pacific or Fellowship International whose primary residence is in British Columbia.

  • Certificate programs may be eligible at the discretion of the Trustees based on relationship to church ministry.

Recipients must be members or regular adherents of churches that are affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches Pacific (Fellowship Pacific
), supported by a letter from their church outlining the extent of the individual’s involvement. 

NOTE: Employment is required to apply.

Criteria

The awarding of a scholarship is based on the written or emailed acceptance into an approved school. The awarding of a scholarship may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient meets the other scholarship requirements. Candidates in completion of a thesis must maintain a satisfactory standing. Scholarship awards and any exceptions to limits, criteria, or durations are at the discretion of the Trustees of the Scholarship Fund.The Trustees’ decisions regarding the application and approval process are final.

  • Work terms or similar co-op modules qualify for scholarship funding.
  • The maximum lifetime scholarship per applicant is $4000.

Eligibility

Scholarships are available for application to:

  • Children, who are undertaking full-time post-secondary studies, of current full-time/regular part-time Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in British Columbia and Yukon (operating as Fellowship Pacific) church pastors.  A pastoral role title is defined as pastor, associate pastor, director, administrator, ministry leader, co-ordinator, and other such titles that indicate a church ministry leadership position. A management personnel role title is defined as director, leader, etc.; in other words, a leadership personnel position.
