Your comfort with computers and software comes in handy as you utilize email communication, online resources, and electronic filing and reporting systems to enhance your work efficiency. You also possess a deep understanding of person-centred care, recognizing the importance of tailoring activities to address the social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being of each resident. You have a remarkable ability to establish and maintain relationships with your team members, residents, families, volunteers, and external agencies. You also embrace the opportunity to adapt your hours and days of work to meet the needs of your residents and fulfill their responsibilities. You have at least one year of relevant experience in implementing activity programs for seniors or event planning. You must also possess an unrestricted class 4 driver's license and a clear driver's abstract or be willing to obtain one. In addition, you’ll also have your current certification in first aid and food safe, or a willingness to obtain them. The physical ability to lift 35 pounds is necessary. While not required, holding a diploma in therapeutic recreation is considered an asset.

About The Role

You’ll play a crucial role in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational wellness programs for the assisted living and independent living residents at Hallmark on the Park and Hallmark on the Lake communities. With a focus on meeting individual needs and fostering a sense of community, you’ll work alongside a dynamic and positive team to create engaging and enjoyable experiences for our residents. You’ll support residents in their transition to the community, actively participating in programs and activities, documenting resident needs and interests, and occasionally driving the Baptist Housing bus for off-site activities. You'll coordinate and schedule both internal programs and external outings and prepare an activity calendar that considers residents' activation, life skills, and recreational and social needs. You'll be an ambassador for Baptist Housing by consistently working in alignment with our values. Your role is a permanent full-time position (32–40 hours per week) with some flexibility in hours and days and some required flexibility to work around special events.
