Job Summary

The Dietician will work and think differently to create an empowering environment that will support and respect the autonomy, independence, dignity and privacy of our residents. They will value learning, embrace innovative change and promote health using a person-centered approach.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the residents’ nutritional requirements
  • Ensures records of food purchases, menu plans and substitutions, food service audits and food services education and training programs, etc. are established and maintained
  • In consultation with the Food Services Supervisor, Program Leaders, etc. ensure the nutritional and therapeutic requirements of the residents are met
  • Ensures a nutrition and food services audit program acceptable to the medical health officer is developed and implemented
  • With the Food Services team, leads continuous quality improvement initiative
  • Acts as a resource for the Village generally and the Nutritional Program specifically with regards to nutrition, swallowing disorders, caloric intake, etc.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist
  • Member or eligible for membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • First Aid
