About HCAP

The Health Career Access Program (HCAP) is a provincial program, designed for individuals who are aspiring to pursue a healthcare career. Starting as a Health Care Support Worker, participants will be provided paid training to transition into the role of a Health Care Assistant (HCA). Upon successful completion of the training, candidates become eligible to register as a Care Aide with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry. Those who accept this opportunity commit to remaining employed as a Care Aide at Baptist Housing for 12 months following graduation. HCAP provides a viable pathway for individuals without prior healthcare experience, offering a combination of employment and sponsored training for a fulfilling career in the healthcare sector.
