About You

You’re a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, and driven to consistently achieve high levels of individual and team performance. Your warm and compassionate nature, exceptional interpersonal skills, and effective communication abilities, both verbal and written in English, will be key to building positive relationships with residents and team members. Your problem-solving skills, time management expertise, and the ability to effectively prioritize and organize your workload will ensure that you provide top-notch resident care. You should have a deep understanding of the aging process, cognitive function alterations, and age-related diseases, enabling you to provide informed and empathetic care to our residents with varying needs. Additionally, you'll need to be well-versed in medication administration, standard precautions, and other healthcare protocols, demonstrating your commitment to safety and quality. Your skills in assessing functional and cognitive status, managing equipment, and utilizing office technology will contribute to the well-being of our residents. Furthermore, your knowledge of pharmacological therapies, the Wellness Model, legal documentation, and the healthcare system at various levels will be invaluable in providing exceptional care and service to our residents You’ll also come with a Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree and be a member in good standing or eligible for membership with BCCNM.

About The Role

You will carry out a wide range of responsibilities in accordance with the BCCNM. You’ll perform nursing interventions, including assessments, treatments, and medication administration. You are responsible for assessing and managing residents with unstable health, maintaining professional relationships and communication with various stakeholders, and collaborating with the team to implement wellness-enhancing programs. Your role also involves leadership responsibilities, such as team member orientation, fostering positive relationships, coaching and mentoring, assessing team members' abilities, and resolving conflicts. Additionally, you’ll lead the development and evaluation of person-centred care plans, act as a resource for other healthcare professionals, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety standards. As an RN, your role also encompasses reporting, professional development, and serving as an ambassador of Baptist Housing, modelling our organization's values, and practicing servant leadership while fostering positive relationships. These available positions are a rotation of days and evenings.
