With an in-depth understanding of aging processes, cognitive function changes, and age-related diseases, you provide empathetic care that transcends the clinical realm. Your expertise extends to medication administration, standard precautions, and adherence to healthcare protocols, prioritizing safety and unwavering quality in every action. You possess a unique skill set that includes assessing functional and cognitive status, managing equipment, and adeptly utilizing office technology. You are also well-versed in pharmacological therapies, the Wellness Model, legal documentation, and the complex intricacies of the healthcare system at various levels. You are competent, compassionate, and have an unwavering commitment to the well-being of those you serve.

Must Haves

  • Holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BCCNM

  • Current First Aid Certificate

  • Food Safe Certificate

About The Role

  • Responsibilities align with BCCNM standards and Code of Ethics.

  • Tasks include nursing interventions (assessments, treatments, medication administration).

  • Responsible for assessing and managing residents with unstable health.

  • Maintains professional relationships and communication with stakeholders.

  • Collaborates on implementing wellness programs.

  • Assumes leadership roles: team orientation, fostering relationships, coaching, conflict resolution.

  • Leads the development and evaluation of person-centered care plans.

  • Acts as a healthcare resource and participates in quality improvement.

  • Ensures safety compliance.

  • Involves reporting, professional development

  • Models Baptist Housing values in all interactions with residents, team and families.

Located along the beautiful shores of Okanagan Lake, in the heart of stunning Okanagan Valley, Kelowna is an inviting community in which to live and work. Our communities are  Mill Creek Village and Smith Creek Village.

The Masters Collective Compensation outlined by the Provincial BC Nurses Collective Agreement. This includes a competitive vacation allocation with extended health and dental benefits. Level 3 RN $40.21 - $54.28 per hour.
