Marrion Village celebrates 35 years of providing comfortable homes and exceptional care to seniors in Oak Bay. Opened in 1977 as Marrion Gardens, the original buildings included three towers and 4 cottage buildings that were designed for independent seniors.  By the late 1990's the buildings were aging and the needs of the Residents changing.  Over the next few years, Baptist Housing, along with its funding partners, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and BC Housing undertook extensive renovations to the existing five-storey towers and replaced the cottages with a new seven-storey building. In 2007 Marrion Village was officially unveiled.

Today, Marrion Village provides 38 assisted living suites and 118 affordable rental suites that receive subsidies. Marrion Village's neigbors and other Baptist Housing communities also recently celebrated anniversaries this year: Shannon Oaks held its 5th and Elgin Gardens its 25th.
